Dhashween Bhogun 

Managing Director

Dhash is the founder of Black Obsidian Group and has steered the company's equity and debt raise, property development projects, structured equity investment and advisory services. 

Dhash holds a BSc Investment and Financial Risk Management degree from Bayes Business School (formerly Cass Business School) from City University, London. After 3 successive scholarships at undergraduate level, he was awarded the British Council Commonwealth Scholarship to pursue an MSc Finance degree from Imperial College London, specialising in private equity and venture capital.

He has over 10 years of experience in the Mauritian financial services sector. After 5 years at IPRO Fund Management (subsidiary of CIEL Finance) with specialised focus on stock selection based on bottom-up research in Sub Saharan Africa countries and portfolio allocation, he completed his next assignment as Manager in the Deals Advisory department at PwC Mauritius leading the Valuation department.

Dhash worked in the Investment department of GRIT Real Estate Income Group as Investment Manager for real estate transactions in the SADC region with key deals experience being the disposal of an A-grade office building of over 8,000 sqaure metres in Ebene for $12 million (MUR 533 million), the strategic acquisition of a 24% shareholding of a Botswana-listed property investment fund for a ticket size of $15 million (MUR 675 million) and the development of a private clinic in Curepipe for a total project cost of $23 million (MUR 1 billion).
